Accountant – Finance Team – Brussels

About the role

Our client, an international company in the sport sector, is expanding its finance team at the Brussels headquarters. The accountant will handle statutory accounting, fiscal compliance and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general accounting tasks and maintain the balance sheet.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year‑end closings.
• Prepare and file annual accounts with the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).
• Submit periodic VAT returns and prepare corporate income tax filings.
• Act as the point of contact for audit matters.
• Produce monthly financial reports.
• Identify and implement process optimisation and automation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP (BE GAAP).
• Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with good command of English.
• Excellent Excel skills and analytical mindset.
• Team player with strong communication abilities.
