Accountant & Business Controller

About the role

(re)space is revitalising vacant properties across Brussels and needs a finance professional who can own the full accounting cycle and provide strategic business control. Reporting to the CEO and Profirst Group CFO, you will act as the financial backbone of the company, ensuring accurate accounts, reliable cash management and actionable financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle accounting, monthly closings and preparation of annual accounts in collaboration with the group finance department.
• VAT processing, journal entries, bank reconciliations and continuous internal controls.
• Accurate invoicing for all contracts and services, guaranteeing no revenue is missed.
• Business control activities: financial reporting, budget tracking, weekly cash monitoring and creation of dashboards for decision‑making.
• Credit management and supplier relations, including follow‑up and collection of client receivables.
• Support for administrative liaison and subsidy files such as training grants, EU dossiers and public‑body applications.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in accounting and/or business control, preferably in an SME or multi‑activity environment.
• Strong background in accounting; finance or management knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting tools, Excel and an ERP system (Odoo experience is a plus).
• Rigorous, autonomous, detail‑oriented with a sense of ownership.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in French and professional English; Dutch is an asset.
