A–Z & General Ledger Accountant (Finance Team)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive A–Z & General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our finance team in Kortrijk. You will manage the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate reporting, and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Handle full‑cycle (A–Z) accounting, from journal entries to financial statements.
• Book all financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts regularly.
• Maintain and monitor the GL structure, post and review entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings, supporting statutory accounts and audit files.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
• Produce financial reports, variance analyses and KPI insights for management.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP and company policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 2–5 years of experience in GL or A–Z accounting; international or multi‑entity exposure is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (BE GAAP; IFRS a plus).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills.
