Supply Chain Manager - Materials

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Supply Chain Manager – Materials to lead regional materials planning, procurement and inventory management for clinical trial kit production. The role ensures reliable material availability while balancing cost, service and inventory objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional materials planning and supply management to meet production and customer demand.
• Oversee procurement activities, ensuring quality, timely delivery and addressing supply constraints.
• Drive strategic sourcing to secure cost‑effective, reliable supply sources and mitigate risks.
• Manage on‑site inventory teams, ensuring accuracy, cycle counting and optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and lead planning, buying, sourcing and inventory personnel, fostering continuous improvement.
• Monitor and improve supply‑chain performance metrics such as availability, accuracy, cost and working capital.
• Partner with Operations, Project Management, Quality, Finance and other stakeholders to align material strategies with trial requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant supply‑chain experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of supply‑chain principles, analytical/problem‑solving abilities, leadership and stakeholder‑management skills, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
