Policy Analyst – Biotechnologies & Pharmaceutical Compliance (Intermediate)

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Policy Analyst specialized in biotechnologies and pharmaceutical compliance to support EU‑wide regulatory activities. The role is freelance and based in Brussels, involving coordination with Member States and European agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft working documents such as work plans, activity reports, meeting minutes and analytical method compilations.
• Coordinate proficiency tests with the responsible Member State and participate in scientific and technical meetings, including the Annual meeting and Project Group on compliance assessment.
• Manage and enrich the ILIADe database, covering uncertainty of measurement, accreditation, analytical equipment and tariff classification.
• Organise and deliver online sampling trainings, workshops and physical trainings, collaborating with bodies such as the JRC, EUDA and ECHA.
• Update the Samancta electronic manual, prepare sampling procedure cards and related presentation materials.
• Support transversal policy activities and contribute to policy documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in biology, chemistry, natural sciences or a related field.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
