Information and Communication Officer – America (Contract Agent)

About the role

The European External Action Service (EEAS) seeks an Information and Communication Officer for its America regional team. The position supports strategic communication on EU foreign and security policy, focusing on the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communication actions that promote EU policies, values and interests in the Americas.
• Monitor, analyse and counter foreign information manipulation, disinformation and interference.
• Coordinate with EU delegations, Member States and EU institutions to ensure coherent messaging.
• Produce briefing materials, press releases, speeches and digital content for internal and external audiences.
• Support the Action Plan against disinformation and the European Democracy Action Plan.

Required profile

• University degree in communication, political science, international relations or a related field.
• Professional experience in strategic communication, public diplomacy or media relations, preferably in an international or EU context.
• Strong understanding of EU foreign and security policy and the geopolitical landscape of the Americas.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
