Associate Regulatory Counsel – Privacy Advisory

About the role

Google is seeking an Associate Regulatory Counsel to join its Privacy Advisory team. The role supports responsible innovation by interpreting privacy and data‑related laws, advising product teams, and engaging with regulators across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the regulatory subject‑matter expert on data‑related compliance for technology and AI products.
• Interface between regulators and internal stakeholders in Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering.
• Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness.
• Partner with Government Affairs and Public Policy colleagues to advance regulator engagements.

Required profile

• JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree with bar admission and good standing in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum three years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or law‑firm settings.
• Demonstrated experience in digital regulation, privacy, and data laws within the UK and European context.
• Familiarity with EU regulations such as the Digital Services Act, AI Act, NIS2, and DORA.
