Architect & Real Estate Project Manager – Temporary Agent (AST3)

About the role

The European External Action Service (EEAS) is seeking a qualified Architect / Real Estate Project Manager to join its Real Estate, Safety and Greening Division as a Temporary Agent (AST3). The position is based at the EEAS Headquarters in Brussels and supports the management of EU diplomatic premises worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement real‑estate policy for the EEAS headquarters and the network of 145 EU delegations and offices.
• Oversee health, safety and environmental standards across all EEAS buildings and staff accommodations.
• Manage the planning, design and execution of construction, renovation and maintenance projects in Brussels and abroad.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external contractors and local authorities to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and compliance documentation for real‑estate initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant higher education in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Real Estate Management or a related field.
• Professional experience in managing real‑estate or construction projects, preferably in an international or public‑sector environment.
• Strong understanding of EU procurement, health‑safety regulations and environmental sustainability standards.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
