AP Accountant – Finance & Accounting – Brussels

About the role

We are looking for an AP Accountant to join a leading international retailer in Brussels. You will work closely with stores, e‑commerce and logistics teams, providing financial insight and supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with BE GAAP and IFRS.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and support financial reporting.
• Perform complex reconciliations, including intercompany and fixed‑asset accounts.
• Analyze and optimise financial processes through automation and efficiency improvements.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver financial insights for decision‑making.
• Identify financial risks, strengthen internal controls and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management.
• At least one year of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong accounting knowledge with the ability to manage complex reconciliations independently.
• Proficient in Excel and interested in ERP systems and Generative AI tools.
• Organised, proactive and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Fluent in Dutch with good command of French and English.
