Senior Azure Cloud Architect / Designer

About the role

The Senior Azure Cloud Architect / Designer will lead complex enterprise cloud migration and modernization programs. You will act as the technical authority, designing secure, scalable and cost‑optimized Azure solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute end‑to‑end migrations from on‑prem data warehouses, Cloudera/Hadoop, and legacy monolithic applications to Azure.
• Define migration strategies (re‑host, re‑platform, refactor, re‑architect) and manage parallel run, cut‑over and decommissioning.
• Design enterprise‑grade Azure architectures, Landing Zones and reference designs aligned with the Azure Well‑Architected Framework.
• Build serverless and event‑driven solutions using Azure Functions, Event Hub, Service Bus, Logic Apps and APIs.
• Develop real‑time streaming platforms with Azure Event Hub, Kafka on Azure, Stream Analytics and Databricks Structured Streaming.
• Lead Azure Databricks lakehouse designs, migration of ETL pipelines to Spark, and performance‑cost optimisation.
• Define security, governance and reliability models (Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, Defender, Sentinel, Azure Policy).
• Promote Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Provide technical guidance, cost modelling and mentorship to architects and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience designing and delivering large‑scale Azure migration projects.
• Strong expertise in Azure serverless, data streaming and Databricks ecosystems.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile / SAFe delivery environments.
