Senior Legal Counsel – Energy

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel for Energy, you will support BESIX Power’s national and international renewable‑energy development, financing, construction and operation activities. Based in Belgium, you will work closely with project teams and corporate functions to ensure robust contractual frameworks across all jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, memorandums of understanding, term sheets, partnership and joint‑venture contracts, EPC, O&M, procurement, power purchase agreements, land and financing documents, and share purchase agreements.
• Assist with project and company acquisitions, conducting due diligence and providing legal support for M&A, project financing, acquisition financing, structured and tax‑equity transactions.
• Prepare legal documentation for tender responses and manage legal aspects of awarded projects.
• Set up and negotiate various partnership structures, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in renewable‑energy law, contract law, corporate law and project finance.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex, multi‑jurisdictional agreements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
