Public Affairs Director, Benelux & France

About the role

UPS is seeking a senior leader to own and drive the public affairs agenda across Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Luxembourg. Reporting to the VP of Public Affairs for EMEA, you will shape government‑relations strategy, protect operations and enable business growth for a global logistics leader.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legislative, regulatory and political developments in the four markets and assess their impact on UPS.
• Design and execute advocacy strategies that safeguard network efficiency and support commercial objectives.
• Produce high‑quality briefing materials, position papers, consultation responses and executive talking points.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Provide bespoke analysis of political trends aligned with UPS business priorities.
• Lead UPS participation in trade associations, assume leadership roles and coordinate cross‑functional engagement.
• Partner with internal leaders to align public affairs initiatives with operational needs.
• Respond to municipal, regional and national government requests as they arise.
• Represent UPS in public speaking and media opportunities when appropriate.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs or public policy (corporate, public sector or trade association).
• Relevant experience in transportation, logistics, trade, customs, sustainability or labour policy.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver comprehensive advocacy strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Strong public speaking and external communication skills.
• Post‑graduate education in political science, public policy or a related field.
