About the role
The Community & Events Intern will support the Centre for Future Generations (CFG) in organising events that bring together the European technology‑governance community and in strengthening the networks that underpin the field.
Key responsibilities
- Support planning and delivery of CFG events, from small roundtables to large public gatherings.
- Manage event logistics including venues, suppliers, invitations, registration and on‑day coordination.
- Prepare event materials such as agendas, name badges, signage and briefing notes.
- Map organisations and individuals working on technology governance in Europe and identify connection opportunities for CFG.
- Handle post‑event follow‑up, including thank‑you notes, summaries and introductions between guests and CFG experts.
- Maintain and grow the contact database, tracking attendance and engagement.
- Assist CFG’s participation in coalitions by preparing for meetings, taking notes and tracking actions.
- Coordinate joint activities with peer organisations and monitor developments in the field.
Required profile
- Warm, professional people skills and ease talking to a range of guests from students to senior policymakers.
- Strong organisational ability to juggle multiple events and workstreams while meeting deadlines.
- Clear written communication for drafting invitations, summaries and follow‑up messages.
- Calm under pressure, able to adapt when events deviate from plan.
- Genuine curiosity about emerging technologies and the governance community.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any subject; event, community or membership experience is a plus.
- Native‑level fluency in written and spoken English.
