Clinical Scientist

About the role

The Clinical Scientist will support EORTC’s clinical research programme by providing high‑level scientific, methodological and operational expertise. Working under the Head of Medical Department, the role contributes to the design, execution and dissemination of disease‑specific and transversal studies, including externally funded collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to scientific conception, development and implementation of clinical, methodological and translational research projects.
• Provide scientific leadership and coordination support in collaboration with physicians, statisticians, project managers and other experts.
• Support externally funded projects (EU, IHI) through study design, methodology, governance, reporting and dissemination.
• Ensure scientific consistency, quality and documentation across projects in line with EORTC processes and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and synthesize scientific information on investigational therapies, biomarkers, imaging methods and response criteria.
• Assist in strategic review of new study concepts and identification of funding opportunities.
• Develop scientific input for protocols, synopses, amendments and grant applications.
• Participate in scientific oversight during study conduct alongside multidisciplinary operational teams.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Head of Medical Department.
• Demonstrates high‑level scientific, methodological and operational expertise in clinical research.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, statisticians and project managers.
