Data Architect

About the role

adesso Belgium is seeking a Data Architect to design and guide modern data platforms on Azure. You will focus on Lakehouse architectures using Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, translating business goals into scalable, secure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define data architectures and roadmaps covering ingestion, storage, processing, serving, and governance.
• Design end‑to‑end Azure‑based solutions, including Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
• Evaluate and position technologies (Databricks vs. Fabric) based on client context and use cases.
• Create reference patterns such as medallion architecture, CDC, data sharing, and semantic layers.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, security experts, and domain specialists to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Guide data engineers, analytics engineers, BI developers, and data scientists in implementing the architecture.
• Provide expertise on data modeling techniques (dimensional, star schema, data vault) and data product design.
• Promote data governance principles, including ownership, cataloguing, lineage, and metadata management.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing Azure‑based data platforms and Lakehouse solutions.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and security.
• Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps.
