Systems Business Finance Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Business Finance Controller to join our Projects & Systems business in Ukkel, Brussels. Reporting to the local finance lead, you will act as a trusted advisor to commercial and operational stakeholders, providing financial insights that drive profitable growth and support strategic decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, Tendering, Project Management and Operations teams to improve business performance and profitability.
• Serve as the finance subject‑matter expert for bids, tenders, quotations and major customer projects.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to ensure a single source of truth for decision‑making.
• Monitor project performance, margins and risks from initiation to closure.
• Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Challenge and influence business decisions to maximise value creation.
• Support process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
• Build strong, trust‑based relationships across the organisation.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in Business Finance, Project Controlling, Commercial Finance, Audit, Consulting or a similar role.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Experience in project‑focused, capital‑intensive sectors such as systems, infrastructure, engineering, automation or energy.
• Understanding of project‑based business models, including tenders, bids, project profitability and P&L management.
• Background in multinational organisations; experience in a Big Four or consulting environment is a plus.
