Solution Architect – KYC & Mortgages (Hybrid, Brussels)

About the role

We are seeking a Solution Architect to design resilient, scalable solutions for KYC and mortgage capabilities within ING Belgium. The role works closely with business, IT, engineering and product teams to align architecture with group strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end solution architecture for KYC and mortgage capabilities.
• Translate business requirements into sustainable technology solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers and domain architects to design and guide implementation.
• Manage dependencies and align road‑maps across squads and tribes.
• Ensure regulatory, data‑flow and security requirements are met.
• Define architecture principles covering data, privacy, scalability, performance, resilience, cost and ethics.
• Document decisions and balance functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Drive platform modernization through modular architecture, clear interfaces and monitoring.
• Enable AI and automation capabilities, including AI‑assisted processes and document information extraction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solution architecture, software engineering or IT delivery.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of architecture principles, data, security, privacy, scalability, performance and resilience.
• Fluent in English and proficient in Dutch or French.
• Autonomous, proactive and comfortable challenging assumptions.
