Senior Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a major international group operating in infrastructure, industry, ICT and services, is seeking a Dutch‑speaking Senior Financial Controller. Based in Brussels, you will act as the senior financial reference point for a defined business unit, partnering closely with Business Unit and Project Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior financial business partner to Business Unit and Project Managers.
• Lead the monthly closing process, produce in‑depth result analyses and periodic reports.
• Consolidate and analyse financial data across multiple entities; challenge CAPEX, performance and assumptions.
• Conduct monthly project reviews together with Business Unit and Project Managers.
• Identify financial risks proactively and escalate where appropriate.
• Drive annual budget preparation and manage quarterly re‑forecasts for the business units.
• Liaise with external auditors and oversee project audits.
• Collaborate with local financial and business controllers to ensure financial discipline and data quality.
• Support sustainable growth by ensuring strong financial governance across the units.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience in financial control, business control or a comparable senior finance role.
• Proven ability to challenge and influence senior management.
• Comfortable navigating a multi‑entity, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business.
• Fluent in Dutch and French; good working knowledge of English.
• Resilient personality able to handle pressure and empower teams on financial matters.
