Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a globally distributed engineering team focused on advanced digital finance and blockchain-powered technologies. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend systems that power high‑performance financial services used worldwide. You will work in a remote‑first environment, collaborating with product, engineering and design teams in an Agile setting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs for a high‑performance financial platform.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers and stakeholders to translate business needs into efficient technical architectures.
• Improve and optimise existing Node.js services for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Develop new backend solutions and integrations using RPC calls within micro‑service architectures.
• Write and optimise complex queries for operational, financial and compliance processes using MySQL and MongoDB.
• Contribute to platform scalability initiatives to ensure real‑time responsiveness under growing demand.
• Apply strong security principles to protect infrastructure, transactions and user data.
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of micro‑services architecture and distributed systems design.
• Experience building and maintaining large‑scale platforms or applications.
• Proficiency with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of backend security concepts and secure API development.
