OT Infrastructure & Automation Engineer

About the role

The OT Infrastructure & Automation Engineer will report to the Technical Services Manager and be responsible for the operational management, optimisation and security of the entire OT infrastructure in a production environment. The role supports all departments, ensuring continuity, cybersecurity, data availability and automation across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage OT networks (wired & wireless), OT servers (physical & virtual), and Windows Server services such as AD, DHCP and DNS.
• Install, configure and maintain OT software including SCADA systems (iHistorian, FT Historian, VantagePoint, Kepware, iFIX, WinCC, Darwin, Powerplant) and related applications.
• Oversee data backup and recovery for PLC, SCADA and SQL databases using tools like Acronis and Veeam.
• Develop and support internal reporting tools for operational monitoring, excluding specific quality and packaging inspection systems.
• Handle PLC change management with Versiondog and maintain Siemens environments, including installations, updates and field programming.
• Provide OT cybersecurity support in collaboration with the SOC team, manage antivirus solutions and assist with NIS2‑related activities.
• Collaborate with IT/OSS teams and external partners to support all departments and drive KPI monitoring.
• Identify and implement improvement projects to optimise cost efficiency and energy measurements within the OT infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in OT infrastructure, industrial automation or similar environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments and support production operations.

Required skills

• PLC programming and management.
• Industrial networking (wired & wireless).
• SQL database administration.
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and VBA.
• Windows Server (AD, DHCP, DNS) administration.
• Backup solutions (Acronis, Veeam).
• Versiondog for change management.
• Experience with SCADA platforms (iHistorian, FT Historian, VantagePoint, Kepware, iFIX, WinCC, Darwin).
• OT/IT integration and cybersecurity awareness.
