Operations Airport Assistant (Temporary replacement)

About the role

The Operations Airport Assistant provides essential support for the Migrant Protection and Assistance (MPA) Unit at Brussels Airport. Working under the Senior RMM Associate and in coordination with the Head of Unit, the incumbent assists in the delivery of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) projects and other movement‑management activities such as resettlement and relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of AVRR and related migration projects.
• Support day‑to‑day movement‑operations tasks at Brussels Airport.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain accurate records using IOM’s proprietary tools.
• Work in rotating shifts to provide continuous operational coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or related field with at least two years relevant experience, OR high school diploma with four years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in AVRR and IOM movement operations.
• Ability to work shifts and adapt to irregular hours.
• Valid EU driving licence (category B) and capability to drive a manual vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IOM tools: MiMOSA Web and ATOMS.
• Knowledge of the Amadeus Global Distribution System.
• Experience operating at Brussels Airport.
