About the role

Tax and Legal Services is looking for a seasoned legal professional to lead its Business & Commercial Law team. You will work closely with tech start‑ups and scale‑ups across East and West Flanders, providing strategic advice that helps innovators navigate complex legal landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Empower tech start‑ups and scale‑ups by delivering pragmatic legal counsel on a range of commercial matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate critical documents such as partnership agreements, terms of use, licence agreements, privacy procedures, SLAs and trademark registrations.
• Collaborate with clients to implement policies, negotiate agreements and resolve disputes with customers, suppliers and partners.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 10+ lawyers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Leverage your network of founders and investors to create new business opportunities and lasting partnerships.
• Drive business development by monitoring legal trends, delivering workshops, publishing thought‑leadership articles and promoting the firm’s services within the Belgian tech ecosystem.

Required profile

• Belgian master’s degree in law (advanced master’s a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a lawyer, in‑house counsel or legal consultant.
• Strong technical legal knowledge, preferably in IP/IT law, data protection, AI regulations, medical‑device compliance or competition law.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Active involvement in business development, networking and knowledge sharing.
