Legal Manager EMEA & Asia

About the role

The Legal Manager EMEA & Asia will act as an autonomous legal advisor for Lotus Bakeries, supporting business units across Europe, South Africa and Asia. The role provides business‑focused legal guidance on commercial contracts, marketing initiatives and procurement activities, helping the company grow while maintaining compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, procurement and marketing contracts.
• Advise internal stakeholders such as marketing, sales and procurement on day‑to‑day legal matters, promoting risk‑aware solutions.
• Identify emerging legal risks and design mitigation strategies tailored to the fast‑moving FMCG environment.
• Maintain and disseminate up‑to‑date regional legal knowledge, coordinating with external counsel where required.
• Monitor legislative changes in the covered jurisdictions and communicate their impact to the business.
• Participate in bi‑annual meetings with the Management Team to align legal support with corporate strategy.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Manager on local compliance requirements and improvement initiatives.
• Design and deliver training sessions on relevant legal topics for key functions.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of post‑qualification experience in commercial law, preferably within a multinational FMCG or consumer‑goods environment.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and provide pragmatic, business‑oriented legal advice.
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are a plus.
