IT System Engineer – Critical Infrastructure (Antwerp)

About the role

You will join a critical operational and logistics environment in Antwerp, managing, maintaining and continuously improving the IT infrastructure. The role works closely with internal IT teams and external technology partners to ensure high availability, performance, security and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and optimise IT infrastructure components.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, migrations and lifecycle management.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Maintain VMware virtualised environments, preferably vSphere/ESXi.
• Monitor availability, capacity and performance, taking proactive actions.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support and conduct root‑cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Document solutions, procedures and infrastructure changes.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for critical incidents outside normal hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• Several years of professional experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server and Linux systems (RHEL preferred).
• Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization.
• Good understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLAN.
